Question 44 - Old Covenant Revoked or Not
Question 44 - Old Covenant Revoked or Not
Cai:
In this article, the mention of St.Matt. verses from Good Friday concerning the passage where the Jews called down the blood of Jesus on themselves and their children, assured that each Jew is born with the Blood Curse of Jesus on their immortal souls.
R. Sungenis: There is no official Church teaching affirming your contention, and for good reason. The statement of the people in Matthew 27:25 ("let his blood be upon us and our children") is not a divine curse but a statement of hatred against Jesus to Pilate. No where in the New Testament, or in any official Church document, do we read that the Jews are "cursed." The only curse the Jews have, if we use the term "curse" loosely, is that which every man receives from Adam. The Jews of today have the same problem that the Jews of the OT had -- a disbelief in God's salvation and a desire to make their own salvation on their own terms.
St. Augustine says that this is a second type of Original Sin,particular to Jews, only. They need the grace of God to convert.
R. Sungenis: I don't know where Augustine speaks of a "second type of Original Sin," and even if he did, there is no official Church affirmation of it, so it is not Catholic Dogma.
The goals Christ Crucifiers has been for hundreds of years 1 Get the deicide crime abolished.2 Get the Old Covenant to be still valid for them by the Vatican. 3 Get the Nohahide Laws established worldwide by placing 5th columns in the 5 great religions of the world.
R. Sungenis: And that's why we are here to preach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ -- in order to rebut these false ideas.

Let us pray for their conversion and the light of Christ, in whom, alone is salvation.
